Rory McIlroy had a successful first round of competition at the next Ryder Cup course.

Four-time Major champion concealed an approach shot to an Eagle in his quest to 4-under 67.

McElroy shot off the leaderboard after he hit his second shot at a par-4 of 453 yards just a few feet away from the hole.

McIlroy was third in the race along with Malaysia's Gavin Green and Spain's Adri Arnos.
